Location:
Veliko Turnovo is a region in the middle of the north central part of Bulgaria. It is located about 220km east from Sofia, 230 km west of Varna and 225 km north-west of Burgas and is a crossroad for all main Bulgarian road routes.

The climate of the region is temperate continental with cold winters and warm summers (average January temperature 1,6 °? with heavy snowfalls). The average annual temperature is about 10 °C. Snow lies on the high mountainous parts for an average of about 110 days.
