Location:
Situated 64 km south of Varna, 70 km north of Bourgas and 530 km east of Sofia. Byala’s panoramic views make it a perfect spot both for a flexible holiday and for a wise investment. Both Byala and Obzor have long virgin beaches and the distance between the two black sea resorts is less then 6 km.
They lie on the ridges of Balkan Mountain that slope towards the sea and along the Dvoynitsa River. Obzor’s ancient Hellenic name was Navlohos, then it was given the name Heliopolis (Town of the Sun) and the Romans renamed it to Templum Jovis (Jupiter’s Temple).
Climate: The climate is as mild and pleasant as in a Mediterranean resort. The air temperature varies between 18 and 31 degrees Celsius from May to October. The average temperature in July is 23 °C. The average temperature of the sea water during summer season is 23 °C.
Sightseeing:
There are three camping sites with bungalows and enough space for tents between village of Byala and town of Obzor. Luna Camping and Prostor Camping work without advance reservation, as well as the Sluntse (Sun) Camping. The Ticha Hotel Amore Tourist Hostel and plenty of private lodgings.
There are small restaurants and refreshment stalls along the coast, as well as grocer's shops and fresh fruits and vegetables
Byala was founded during the 3 rd century BC. Byala is a prosperous village due to the thriving local wine industry. The extremely fine wine of “Dimyat” vintage is produced there.
South of Byala and near Cape Emine is located Emona, a place famous as being the birthplace of the Thracian king Rez. Rez participated in the Thracian War and was killed by Odysseus and Diomedus according to Homer's "Iliad".
